The Artistic Soup (Group A)

Just some days ago two activists of the “Futuro Vegetal” association glued their hands to the paintings of the “Maja Desnuda” and of the “Maja Vestida” exposed in the National museum “El Prado” with intention of calling the attention of the government in demonstration for the global warming. In the wall where these pictures are hung they wrote: “+1.5º” to advise of the global temperature increment that will make important consequences. For luck both of the pictures didn’t get any damage.

It’s not the first time that happens a similar event, because almost a month ago, the “Girasoles” of Van Gogh suffered an attack from part of other two activist. Similar happenings have been happening during this last months and the climate change is advancing every day and the ecologist group more radicals use as protest this method of glue to important paintings or even throw them food. Is really necessary to demonstrate of that way creating a risk to important pictures having other ways?

The answer is no, there are many forms of claim our opinions, it isn’t necessary to damage so significant paintings. Is also true that this actions have much more attention. But it doesn’t worthwhile put on risk the artistic past of the world.
