Businessman Yusaku Maezawa has been planning a trip to the moon with different artists from all over the world. In 2018, SpaceX, the company that is going to do the trip, announced that Yusaku would be the first private passenger flying to the moon.
He has just announced the eight passenger that are going to fly with him, they are:
Steve Aoki is a D.J., producer and electronic dance music artist. He is from the US.
Tim Dodd, YouTube creator of the channel, started doing videos when he realised that some people would be selected for flying to the moon.He is from the US.
Yemi A.D., artist and choreographer. He is from the Czech Republic.
Karim Iliya, photographer whose publications are for National Geographic.He is from the US.
Rhiannon Adam, a photographer of BBC/Royal Geographic Society. She is from the UK.
Brendan Hall, filmmaker on projects such as the two-hour documentary "Blood Sugar Rising" . He is from Australia.
Dev Joshi, a television actor. He is from India.
T.O.P., a rapper known as the lead for the boy band Big Bang. He is from South Korea.
Two backup members: dancer Miyu, from Japan and snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington, from the US.
Dearmoon continues announcing that the flight will depart in 2023, but the rocket system from SpaceX, Starship has to do the first orbital flight.The proposed flight sees a spacecraft circle the moon, coming within 200km (124 miles) of the surface. The trip would take eight days from launch to return.
This trip will be revolutionary because it is the first flight to the space with normal passengers.
